Treason

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has recently described capitalists as "traitors" and called for them to be dealt with appropriately.

Whilst piercing intellect does not seem to be a characteristic of the current generation of the Kennedy Klan, one would be forgiven for expecting someone as closely associated with government as RFK, Jr. to know that "treason" is very narrowly defined in the Constitution. It is waging war on the US or giving "aid and comfort" to its enemies. Traitors are eligible for the death penalty.

Which leaves us troubled: Is the very wealthy Mr. Kennedy saying it is now a capital offense to make a profit? To disagree with him and the other pseudo scientists of the Smart Set?

Is he suggesting that DISSENT is now treason? Perhaps he is also ignorant of the First Amendment. Alternatively, perhaps he has been studying his father's notes from his time working for Senator McCarthy.

But for the moment we have a better understanding of how Jane Fonda must have felt when people objected to seeing her perched on an anti-aircraft gun in Hanoi.
