Where Have All The Leaders Gone

A recent example of the piercing intellect of Bill Clinton:

“[N]ow that I’m a millionaire, I get more help from the federal government than anybody. I think it’s inconsistent with the common good to give me huge tax cuts.”

For comparison, Herbert Hoover was a wealthy man before becoming president. During his term he routinely returned his salary to the Treasury, noting that his private resources were sufficient to meet his needs.

Giving money back does not seem to have occurred to Uncle Bill.
